日本において、フルスペックの動物病院を開業する際の初期費用は、土地建物代を除き概ね900万円前後といわれています。その中にはX撮影装置や各種検査機器が含まれています。MASHに最低限必要な医療機器は「麻酔器」と「滅菌器」だけですので、ざっくりと言うと「麻酔器 ＠70万円×2＝140万円」「滅菌器 ＠30万円×1＝30万円」で、これに手術器具や消耗品などもろもろの装備を加えると200万円ちょっとになるのかなと思います。White先生は20,000〜35,000米ドルとおっしゃっていますが、これを2022年7月のレートで日本円に換算すると約270～470万円になります。少し高いと思われるかもしれませんが、米国の物価と円安を考えるとこんなものかもしれません。
