前回まではASPCA（米国動物虐待防止協会）のスペイクリニック（Spay / Neuter Alliance）の、飼い犬や飼い猫の退院指示について見てきましたが、今度は野良猫の避妊去勢手術を実施したときの世話人への指示について見ていくことにしましょう。
リターンの時期
1. We keep cats overnight for one night. Male cats can be released back into the colony on the same day that we release the cat to you. However, we recommend, if possible, keeping a female cat for one additional day for a total of 48 hours (one night at Spay/Neuter Alliance, plus one additional night). Certain circumstances may dictate that a female needs to be retained for a longer period, as directed by your veterinarian.
私たちは猫を一晩預かります。オス猫は、私たちがあなたに猫をお返しした日にコロニーに戻すことができます。ただし、可能であれば、メス猫をさらに1日、合計48時間預かることをお勧めします（Spay/Neuter Allianceで1泊、さらに1泊）。状況によっては、獣医師の指示により、メス猫をもっと長い期間預かる必要がある場合もあります。

スペイクリニックによっては、手術当日に猫を退院させることもあります（特にMASHタイプ、いわゆる「一斉手術」の場合はそうです）が、Spay / Neuter Allianceは手術の翌日の退院になります。TNRの際のリターンは早いほうがよいのですが、術後の経過観察も必要です。そのあたりの兼ね合いは各クリニックの判断になると思います。
預かった猫の管理 その1
2. If you are keeping the cat(s) overnight, keep them in the trap in which they were placed after surgery, and keep the back trap door locked at all times. The cat(s) must be kept indoors in a temperature-controlled area. They should be monitored for bleeding, difficulty breathing, lethargy or dullness, and/or vomiting or loss of appetite, although not all community cats will eat overnight, due to stress. Place the trap in a quiet, well-ventilated, and temperaturecontrolled area.
猫を一晩預かる場合は、手術後に入れられた捕獲器に入れ、バックトラップドアは常にロックしておいてください。猫は屋内の温度管理された場所に保管する必要があります。出血、呼吸困難、無気力や鈍痛、嘔吐や食欲不振がないか観察する必要がありますが、全ての野良猫がストレスにより一晩中食事をするわけではありません。捕獲器は静かで換気の良い温度管理された場所に置きます。

メス猫を世話人宅で1泊させる場合、捕獲器に入れたまま静かな屋内に置きます。
